Job description
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Data Officer to support the effective management of data systems within our thriving secondary school.
This is an important administrative role, responsible for maintaining accurate student and school data, producing reports, and supporting staff with data-related processes. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders and administrative teams to ensure information is reliable, accessible and supports day-to-day school operations., Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate student and school data across the school's management information systems.
- Support the collection, validation and processing of assessment, attendance and pupil information.
- Produce routine and ad hoc reports for staff and senior leaders.
- Assist with data audits and quality assurance checks.
- Support compliance with GDPR and all relevant data protection requirements.
Administrative Support
- Assist with census returns and statutory data submissions.
- Support the maintenance of pupil records and school databases.
- Help to develop and improve internal data processes and procedures
Stakeholder Support
- Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff.
- Present data in a clear and accessible format.
- Respond to data-related queries from colleagues.
- Build positive relationships with external agencies and service providers where required.
- Provide guidance to staff on the use of data systems and reporting tools.
Requirements
Essential
- Experience working with school data and management information systems.
- Experience producing reports and handling large volumes of data.
- Strong ICT skills, including Excel and database systems.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable
- Experience using systems such as Arbor, SIMS, Bromcom or similar MIS platforms.
- Experience working within a secondary school environment.
- Knowledge of school census and statutory data returns.
- Experience supporting data processes within an educational setting.
