Job description
- Works under the direction and supervision of Administrators and Managers in the Student and Family Services Division
- Plans, provides, or oversees the provision of Multi Tiered Systems of Support Strategies at all Tiers of support including schoolwide positive behavior management interventions for all students with and without behavioral differences in the general education classroom and school site.
- Support training and planning for MTSS professional developments including but not limited to: Classroom strategies/practices; data tool use, collection and analysis; progressive responses to problem behavior, matrices development, Coordinated Care Teaming practices, crisis prevention intervention, and trauma informed practices
- Design and deliver ongoing training and professional development to clerks, paraprofessionals, site leaders, and other district staff/departments to support the MTSS program and sense of belonging guardrail
- Manage district MTSS initiatives by coordinating with CBO's, other district departments, school sites, and city agencies so that attendance strategies are aligned and coherent
- Support SFSD's Coordinated Care Team (CCT) Approach to ensure that school CCTs have essential tools, strategies and resources to implement effective CCT plans
- Partner with colleagues to work with school sites to support students and families within a MTSS framework. Possible services will be site consultation, connection to district-level resources and interventions, and short-term case management to support students.
- Drive continuous improvement by overseeing the collection, analysis, and facilitation of MTSS data to inform strategic decision-making and measure outcomes., * Our Human Resources team will then review your entire application to determine your eligibility status
Requirements
- Knowledge of San Francisco's public schools/urban public schools and a passionate belief in SFUSD's commitment to instructional leadership as a lever toward delivering on the SFUSD Graduate Profile
- Strong analytics and systems thinking necessary to interpret data to inform goals and strategy, as well as build infrastructure where none exists
- Ability to work effectively across multiple functions and roles within a complex organization
- A proven record of effectively planning, organizing and using resources to take action and achieve goals
- The ability to learn quickly and adapt as needed in a fast-paced environment
- Outstanding organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- A flexible, "can do" work ethic with a focus on identifying challenges and proactively working to find solutions while maintaining a bigger picture lens and focus on what can be delivered instead of what cannot be done
- Excellent data analysis skills and experience synthesizing data to drive action steps
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with senior level district staff and colleagues
- Effective written and verbal communication and the ability to clearly communicate complex, bureaucratic processes to a variety of audiences
- Ability to define and implement effective HR business practices
- Ability to work effectively in difficult situations that involve confidential and sensitive matters
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and GSuite (Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, Forms)
Minimum Qualifications
- SFUSD requires all head counselors to hold a valid California Pupil Services Credential in School Counseling
- Master's Degree in School Counseling
