Job description

o Familiarity with package managers like apt, yum, and rpm for software installation and updates o Familiar with Linux networking concepts. o Knowledge of partitioning, file systems (e.g., ext4), and disk management o Administration of hybrid infrastructures (on-premises and cloud) utilizing platforms such as AWS and VMware. o Manage complex multi-domain environments, including user access, permission management, and security policies. o Implement high-level automation processes to streamline server provisioning, system patching, and infrastructure upgrades.

  • System Optimization and Performance Tuning: o Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across infrastructure, applications, and network systems, leveraging deep expertise in performance analysis and system diagnostics. o Develop and maintain complex automation scripts (shell, Python, etc.) to handle large-scale tasks, such as automated deployments, patch management, and monitoring.

Requirements

Spectric Labs is looking for a motivated engineer to help us make an immediate impact for our customers and our company located in Chantilly, VA. We are a small, growing company seeking a candidate responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of a globally deployed, classified, Linux-based research and development network. Successful candidates will have experience working on TS/SCI systems and networks and be familiar with security policies, procedures, and tools. Ideal candidates will also have a working knowledge of DevOps tools for the development, build, and deployment of software on Linux-based systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Linux DevOps Tools: o Expertise in DevSecOps practices, with hands-on experience managing CI/CD pipelines, automation, and secure system integrations (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps). o Expertise with the deployment and administration of OpenShift, including cluster configuration, GPU-enabled node management, accelerator resource scheduling, LLM workload deployment, container orchestration, workload management, access controls, and integration with enterprise infrastructure. o Strong understanding of virtualization (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware) and cloud technologies (Azure, AWS). o Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Podman) o Experience with container deployment technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Nomad) , o Experience using Puppet and Ansible for configuration management of Linux-based servers. o Working knowledge of Red Hat Satellite for lifecycle management of physical and virtual servers, and for operating and securing RHEL environments.

  • Linux Infrastructure Design and Administration: o Experience with Linux-based system administration on, Red Hat operating, o Top Secret security clearance with access to SCI and a CI polygraph. o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). o 3+ years of experience in Linux-based DevOps or systems administration, including managing enterprise-level infrastructures. o Security+ certification. o Passport, or willingness to obtain one.

Salary: The estimated salary range for this position is $100K-$190K. This range is not guaranteed and will depend on experience and qualifications.
