Job description
Vantor is seeking an experienced to design, build, and maintain robust, scalable web applications that support mission-critical operations. This role requires a hands-on engineer with strong full-stack development experience, and the ability to integrate applications across complex environments. The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering secure, high-performance solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve challenging technical problems in a dynamic mission environment.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack web applications using modern software engineering best practices.
- Build scalable backend services and APIs using Java and Python.
- Develop responsive, user-friendly front-end applications using Angular and TypeScript.
- Develop and maintain cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda.
- Manage source code using Git workflows, including branching, code reviews, and merge strategies.
- Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, and deployment issues across development, test, and production environments.
- Collaborate with software engineers, DevOps engineers, system administrators, and mission stakeholders to deliver reliable software solutions.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure applications meet security, performance, and reliability requirements.
- Expected work schedule is three days onsite and two days remote. Must be able to work onsite up to five days per week as needed to support business needs.
Requirements

TS/SCI with current CI polygraph.

5 or more years of professional software development experience Strong experience developing applications with Java and/or Python.

Experience building modern web applications using Angular and TypeScript.

Proficiency with relational database development. .

Hands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda.

Strong understanding of Git version control and collaborative development workflows.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent professional experience).

Experience collaborating on or contributing to UI/UX design, including creating intuitive, user-centered interfaces and improving overall user experience.

Experience designing distributed or microservices-based architectures.

Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Helm charts or Ansible.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum software development environments.

Starting pay for this role will fall within the listed range and will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, location, and market conditions. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements for the role should not expect to receive compensation at the top of the range. The listed range reflects the expected pay for this position, and final offers will be determined based on each candidate's experience, expertise, and alignment with the role.
- The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $113,000.00 - $150,000.00 - $165,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
