Identify and resolve complex LAN/WLAN/WAN issues; research network-level problems using management tools; provide high-level installation, configuration, documentation, management, and troubleshooting of communication equipment for DHA networked facilities in the Pacific Region; advise Government staff, agencies, and contractors on LAN/WLAN/WAN design, implementation, deployment, and management; lead Network Specialists and internal/external organizations to resolve issues; use tools such as Orion SolarWinds, ARMIS, and Ansible to diagnose and resolve issues across the OSI model; support MIB/MRTG-based performance measurement and downtime reduction; establish and configure firewalls, VPN devices, and IDSs; provide written recommendations, ticket documentation, written standards, and standards updates in coordination with the NetMOD Network Standards Team; study vendor products; establish LAN/WLAN/WAN procedures and standards in compliance with DoD, DHA, and DHA Pacific Regional Command objectives and policies; communicate request status to key customers; and support standardization, best practices, minimum access standards, and related projects as needed.

Requirements
- Years of Experience: Bachelor's degree and 5 years of directly related experience; or certified Technical/Vocational School completion and 10 years of directly related progressive experience. Must have mastery-level experience in routed, switched, and shared LAN environments.
- Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences, Engineering, technical degree, or related discipline; or certified Technical/Vocational School completion with required experience.
- Clearance Requirements: SECRET security level designation required.
- Certification Requirements: DoD 8570.01 compliance; IAM Level III or equivalent certification required; CCNP and CISSP required.
- Any other work-related qualifications needed for the role: Experience with DoD Health Care Information Systems required; expertise in Windows networks, Cisco Systems, and Orion SolarWinds required; experience with Zero Trust architectures and methodologies desired; mastery of TCP/IP, XDM, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, RSTP, VRRP, BIND, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, PPP, HDLC, V.35, RS-449, IEEE 802 standards, synchronous/asynchronous communications, Ethernet/Fast Ethernet/Gigabit Ethernet, FDDI, ATM, OTDR, cable testers, network sniffers, EIA/TIA standards, Microsoft OS, Windows Active Directory, UNIX, OpenVMS, routers, switches, terminal servers, and local/long-haul WAN connectivity. Must communicate effectively with Government officials, medical professionals, and highly specialized technical personnel.
