Auditing Operations SolarWinds Communication IP Addressing Network Routing Network Support Network Switches Cisco Networking Wireless Networks Business Valuation Networking Hardware Network Engineering Full Stack Development Network Infrastructure Artificial Intelligence Wireless Communications Business Transformation Network Planning And Design Troubleshooting (Problem Solving) Cisco Certified Network Associate, We are partnering with Loyola Marymount University (LMU) to hire a Network Engineer I to support day-to-day network operations across campus.

This is a hands-on, entry-to-mid-level networking role ideal for someone with 2-3 years of real-world experience who wants to grow within a structured IT environment. The position focuses on network support, troubleshooting, documentation, and physical infrastructure work, not high-level network design.

Ramon described this role as a hands-on, support-focused network engineering role focused on real-world operations, troubleshooting, and infrastructure.

Day-to-Day Network Operations

  • Support and troubleshoot campus network infrastructure (wired & wireless)

  • Activate network ports, patch cables, and maintain switch connectivity

  • Assist with VoIP phone deployments (installation, configuration, activation)

  • Respond to and resolve network-related tickets

  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues for end users and devices

Infrastructure & Field Work

  • Perform network closet audits and cable cleanup (especially dorm environments)

  • Physically install and support networking equipment (switches, phones, access points)

  • Assist with moves/adds/changes across campus network environments

  • Assist with IP address tracking and auditing

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of hands-on networking experience (not just academic)

  • CCNA
