Job description
- Conducts scheduled and unscheduled preventative and corrective maintenance, repairs of Diver Propulsion Devices (DPDs), Underwater Navigation and Communication equipment, to include all ancillary equipment and material.
- Maintain all navigation/communication systems and related auxiliary gear in accordance with manufacturers technical manual. Provide training to Dive Locker personnel and end users to include both topside and in water applications.
- Maintain SHIELD systems and related auxiliary gear in accordance with manufacturers technical manual. Provide training to Dive Locker personnel and end users.
- Communicate up and down the chain of command with changes, modifications, and improvements of existing technologies.
- Conducts monthly, bi-annual, and annual inventories of all SOF peculiar items in DPAS. Maintain accountability via issue documents (i.e. DD Form 1150).
- Obtain factory-trained certifications for all underwater navigation, communication and propulsion systems maintained
- Must complete DoD 80-hour Hazardous Materials Certification Course or the 40-hour Hazardous Materials Certification Refresher Course while in FTE position.
- Must be available to travel to conduct scheduled and unscheduled preventative and corrective maintenance, repair, and accountability of Diver Propulsion Devices (DPDs), Underwater Navigation and Communication equipment and to provide training to Dive Locker personnel and end users.
- Be familiar with the transport and storage of Lithium batteries and proper procedures for upkeep of all batteries associated with maintained systems.
- Adhering to Navy Ordnance Safety and Security Activity (NOSSA) transport, stowage, and operation.
Requirements
- Possess a valid state driver's license.
- Be able to operate a Personal Computer (PC) with common/standard business software. Be proficient in Microsoft
- Office applications to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with others, both verbally and in writing.
- Possess a Secret Security Clearance.
- Navy Dive School certified (NEC 5342 / MDV1 or higher).
- Minimum Five years' experience as a certified 5342/MDV1 diver.
- Qualification as a Maintenance & Material Management (3M)
- Maintenance Person, 3M Quality Assurance Craftsman, and 3M Work Center Supervisor.
