job summary: Seeking an Embedded Software Engineer II for a high growth DoW contractor in the Melbourne, FL area.

The Embedded Software Engineer would be responsible for design, development, integration, verification, and maintenance of embedded software solutions for advanced embedded systems. The successful candidate will contribute to software development across bare-metal, RTOS, and embedded Linux environments while collaborating closely with systems, hardware, FPGA, and verification teams throughout the product lifecycle.

responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain embedded software applications and device drivers.
  • Develop software for embedded processor platforms including AMD/Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC and MicroBlaze architectures.
  • Implement and debug low-level software interfaces including UART, I2C, SPI, GPIO, and other peripheral interfaces.
  • Support software integration activities across hardware, FPGA, and system-level components.
  • Perform software verification, debugging, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution in laboratory and target hardware environments.
  • Participate in board bring-up, hardware/software integration, and system validation activities.
  • Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and software verification procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure technical, schedule, and quality objectives are achieved.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, software design reviews, code reviews, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize software development tools and configuration management systems to maintain high-quality software deliverables.
