Job description
The ERP Data Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining and optimizing component & item data within the company's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This position ensures the accuracy and integrity of Supplier Masters and Part Masters-foundational elements that support efficient manufacturing, supply chain operations, and finance activities. In this role, the specialist will monitor data quality, troubleshoot systemic issues, and ensure clean, reliable data that supports business decisionmaking and operational excellence.
Data Management
- Create, upload, and maintain Part master data and pricing in the ERP system.
- Ensure data completeness, formatting consistency, and compliance with internal data standards.
- Execute mass uploads and data changes using templates or ERP tools.
- Add and Maintain supplier profiles and manage associated documentation
Data Quality & Integrity
- Monitor exceptions using system reports or dashboards and proactively identify data quality issues.
- Perform detailed root cause analysis of discrepancies involving BOMs, costing, or inventory data.
- Implement corrective actions and partner with teams to prevent recurrence.
Process Improvement
- Recommend and implement enhancements to item setup processes, workflow automation, and change control procedures.
- Support documentation of data standards and Work Instructions for master data governance.
System Support
- Assist with ERP system functionality related to items, BOMs, and configuration management.
- Troubleshoot data-related errors, integration issues, and failed transactions.
- Partner with IT to test system updates, new features, or integrations impacting master data.
- Support ERP reporting needs and other data analytics needs
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Engineering, I.T., Operations, and Finance to align item data with business requirements.
- Facilitate communication between functional groups to resolve data discrepancies.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, related field or equivalent experience, calculated as two (2) years of relevant work experience for each year of academic study
- Minimum of two years working in ERP master data or manufacturing data management, with five or more years being preferred.
- Proficiency with Epicor Kinetic preferred, but proficiency in other major ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics experience are also valued.
- Strong Excel capabilities (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data cleaning, macros).
- Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry is strongly preferred.
- Experience with reporting and analytics tools (Power BI or ERP-native reporting).
- Understanding of manufacturing, supply chain, and inventory
- Analytical mindset with the ability to diagnose complex problems.
- Effective communicator who collaborates well across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a project-based environment.
- Experience in an engineer to order environment a plus.
- Basic engineering comprehension is a plus.
