Job description

Design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software. Set operational specifications, and formulate and analyze software requirements. May design embedded systems software., We are looking for an entry-level Software Engineer who is interested in designing and building information systems to support the construction of highly complex products. Our organization builds and maintains systems that support a wide range of business areas including Materials Management, Planning, Human Resources, Finance, and more., The engineer will help develop, maintain, and enhance systems that integrate with enterprise platforms such as SAP, Teamcenter, SharePoint, and others, while working with advanced database technologies such as SQL Server and Oracle. The role includes participating in collaborative sessions with developers, business partners, systems engineers, solution architects, and administrators to understand requirements, implement features, and deliver value across multiple technical domains.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of relevant exempt experience.

One of the following may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree for Information Technology Related Positions Only:

  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
  • A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Bachelors in Science or 4 equivalent years of experience

Nice to Have

Candidate should have a basic understanding of the following:

  • Microsoft Visual Studio

  • Programming Languages: C/C++, C#, .NET, Java, Python

  • Knowledge of product development utilizing PLM systems

  • IT systems architecture and use of each stage of the Software Development Life Cycle

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and direction

  • Written/oral communication and teaming skills

  • DevOps methodologies and tools such as CI/CD with Git or Azure DevOps

  • Test Driven Development (TDD), design patterns (Dependency Injection, Adapters), MSTest, NSubstitute
