Job description
ClearView Business Solutions is seeking a hands-on Field IT & Printer Technician to provide onsite and remote technical support for our customers throughout the Tampa Bay area.
This is a hybrid technical position combining IT support, networking, printer and copier support, document-scanning configuration, and electronics troubleshooting. The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems involving both software and physical equipment, not just working from a help desk.
We are especially interested in candidates with experience troubleshooting electronics, printers, copiers, multifunction devices, scanners, office equipment, or other electromechanical systems. Strong IT candidates who possess excellent electrical and mechanical aptitude and are genuinely interested in learning copier and printer hardware are also encouraged to apply.
ClearView will provide hands-on training in Toshiba copier and printer technology, hardware diagnostics, service procedures, and related document solutions., IT, Network and Remote Support
- Provide remote and onsite technical support to ClearView customers.
- Install, configure, update, and troubleshoot printer drivers on Windows workstations and servers.
- Diagnose network-printing problems, print queues, device connectivity, user permissions, and driver conflicts.
- Configure network settings on copiers, printers, scanners, and multifunction devices.
- Troubleshoot IP addressing, TCP/IP connectivity, DNS, DHCP, authentication, ports, firewalls, and related network issues.
- Assist customers with Windows, workstation, network, and peripheral troubleshooting.
- Document service activity, customer configurations, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
- Escalate advanced network or systems issues when appropriate.
Scanning and Document Workflow Support
- Configure and troubleshoot scan-to-email functionality.
- Configure and troubleshoot scan-to-network-folder and SMB scanning.
- Resolve SMTP, authentication, security, permissions, DNS, certificate, and file-path issues.
- Set up address books, scan destinations, user authentication, and document workflows.
- Install, configure, and support document-management and print-management solutions.
- Support solutions such as PaperCut and Drivve Image.
- Assist with document capture, routing, indexing, scanning, and workflow configurations.
Copier, Printer and Electronics Support
- Provide remote technical support for Toshiba copiers, printers, and multifunction devices.
- Diagnose copier and printer error codes, communication problems, print-quality issues, scanning problems, and device failures.
- Perform onsite troubleshooting of copiers, printers, scanners, and related office technology.
- Use service documentation, diagnostic tools, meters, and technical resources to identify equipment problems.
- Assist with the replacement, adjustment, and testing of hardware components after training.
- Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, firmware, and connectivity-related equipment issues.
- Complete manufacturer-specific and hands-on training provided by ClearView.
- Develop the ability to independently diagnose and resolve copier and printer hardware problems.
Print Monitoring and Managed Services
- Install and support data-collection-agent and print-monitoring software.
- Connect printers, copiers, and multifunction devices to customer networks.
- Confirm that meter, toner, service, and device-status information is reporting correctly.
- Assist customers with onboarding, device discovery, and network scanning.
- Support the continued growth of ClearView's managed IT and MSP services.
- Provide Level 1 and developing Level 2 technical support as the position expands., The right candidate is naturally curious and enjoys determining why something is not working. You should be equally comfortable investigating a network configuration, installing a print driver, resolving a scan-to-email problem, and opening a piece of equipment to diagnose an electronic or mechanical failure.

Requirements
- At least two years of experience in IT support, field service, technical support, electronics repair, printer service, copier service, networking, or a related technical field.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
- Experience supporting Windows computers, printers, drivers, networks, or peripheral devices.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and common network services.
- Comfort working with both software and physical equipment.
- Demonstrated electrical, electronic, or mechanical aptitude.
- Genuine willingness to learn copier and printer diagnostics and repair.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to nontechnical customers.
- Professional appearance and strong customer-service skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple service requests, and follow issues through resolution.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel regularly to customer locations throughout the Tampa Bay area.
- Ability to safely lift and carry tools, parts, and equipment weighing approximately 50 pounds.
- Ability to pass applicable background and driving-record checks.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in any of the following areas is highly desirable:
- Copier, printer, MFP, scanner, or office-equipment service
- Electronics, electrical, electromechanical, or equipment troubleshooting
- Toshiba copiers and multifunction devices
- Printer-driver deployment and print-server support
- Scan-to-email and scan-to-folder configuration
- SMTP, SMB, DNS, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, or Entra ID
- PaperCut or other print-management platforms
- Drivve Image or document-capture solutions
- Remote monitoring and management platforms
- ConnectWise PSA, RMM, or related MSP tools
- Data-collection-agent or print-monitoring software
- Level 1 or Level 2 help-desk support
- Field service in a customer-facing business environment
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, Toshiba, or comparable technical certifications
