The ideal candidate will be able to travel to and from the STOC in Raleigh for in-person support during a major activation lasting >5 days., We are seeking a GIS Analyst to provide dedicated GIS support to STOC and TM&S. This person maintains and updates the GIS data behind routing, traffic operations, and incident response; builds and updates maps, dashboards, and GIS tools that support daily operations; and works directly with non-GIS staff to understand requests, ask clarifying questions, and translate needs into working solutions. Daily work includes editing geometry, updating events and attributes, performing QA/QC, writing basic Arcade code, supporting ETL under guidance, and documenting progress. The role reports to a GIS Developer and requires strong collaboration both in person and remotely., Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI): We may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support parts of our hiring process, including sourcing, screening, and evaluating candidates. Advanced working knowledge of ArcGIS Online, the Esri Software Suite, and ArcGIS Enterprise

Ability to build web mapping applications independently

Publishing hosted and referenced feature services

Understanding of the full GIS product lifecycle: requirements * database * schema * cartography * app development * maintenance

Editing geometry, events, and attribute data

QA/QC execution against established standards

Basic Arcade coding (mapping, queries, calculations, display)

Clear communication with non-GIS users; requirements gathering and documentation

Local to the Triangle region; able to be on-site day one
