- Support integration of software applications on Linux-based operating systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Build, maintain, and troubleshoot a combined software and hardware integration test environment.
- Work with communication protocols and network components such as switches, VLANs, CAN, serial, and Ethernet.
- Use scripting and programming skills to support testing, automation, and problem solving.
- Track work and manage configuration items using Git, GitLab, and Jira.
- Assist with cybersecurity-related tasks such as hardening systems and supporting scans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, including mechanical, electrical, controls, and systems partners.
- Help mentor less experienced test engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
- At least 2 years of experience in software integration and testing.
- Hands-on experience testing real-time embedded software in Linux or Unix-like environments.
- Strong programming or scripting ability in C++, Python, and/or Bash.
- Experience with version control and issue tracking tools such as Git, GitLab, and Jira.
- Ability to develop and execute manual and automated test cases.
- Experience working with computer networks and troubleshooting protocol-based communications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for clearance eligibility.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with traceability across requirements, design, and verification artifacts.
- Familiarity with military or commercial engineering standards.
- Exposure to model-based design tools such as UML tools, MagicDraw, or Enterprise Architect.
- Experience with DOORS or other requirements management tools.
- Familiarity with Qt framework for front-end development.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity tools and practices, including Nessus, Coverity, SSL/TLS, SSH, SFTP, and STIG hardening.
- Experience using virtual machines in test or deployment environments.
- Background with NI tools such as TestStand, VeriStand, or LabVIEW.
- Exposure to combat vehicle systems or similar mission-focused environments.
