Job description
- Legal Integration: Collaborate with DOJ attorneys and Interagency partners to align legal strategies and initiatives that support USCENTCOM's operational objectives.
- Policy Development: Assist in the drafting and refinement of policies related to national security issues, sentencing guidelines, legal compliance, and operational directives.
- Case Coordination: Manage and coordinate high-profile national security cases, ensuring seamless collaboration between DOJ interagency federal law enforcement mission partners, and USCENTCOM legal teams.
- Training and Outreach: Organize and lead training sessions for DOJ and USCENTCOM personnel on relevant judicial process and legal matters, enhancing understanding of national security protocols.
- Forensic and Technical Research Collaboration: Work closely with intelligence and law enforcement agencies to gather legal insights and ensure compliance with federal laws affecting national security operations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare legal documentation and reports relating to joint DOJ-USCENTCOM investigations and irregular warfare operations, ensuring adherence to legal standards and operational needs.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school located within the United States.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience, with significant time spent in prosecutorial roles focused on national security.
- Note: Paralegals with10+ years of experience in prosecution of National Security involving the IW subset missions noted in Paragraph 1 will also be considered in lieu of the JD.
- Demonstrated high level of proficiency in national security law and criminal prosecution.
- Ability to develop and implement legal strategies that align with operational needs.
- Experience in collaborating with federal agencies, specifically the DOJ, in high-stakes legal matters.
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communications skills, including an expert ability to communicate effectively at the operational and national executive and decision-maker levels.
- Expert Microsoft Office Skills.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Current U.S. Passport.
- Active DoD Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility., * Experience with JIATF or JTTF operations is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategies that address complex legal and operational challenges.

Benefits & conditions
Target Salary Range: $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
