Job description

To strengthen our U.S. Sales Organization, we are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Applications Engineer to support our sales process through accurate pricing, thermal calculations, and costing for Industrial Refrigeration, Data Centers, and Process Cooling. Based in Jacksonville, Texas, this individual will play a key role in ensuring timely and competitive proposals, technical accuracy, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of engineering knowledge, analytical skills, and commercial awareness, contributing directly to our business growth, operational efficiency, and customer success., The Application Engineer serves as a vital link between the customer and our technical teams. This role combines elements of inside sales, engineering analysis, and pricing strategy. The ideal candidate will support the external sales team by preparing thermal calculations, performing component-level costing, and generating accurate quotations using advanced in-house software, Excel modeling and internal pricing tools., * Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customer inquiries, drawings, and product specifications.

  • Prepare and issue customer quotations based on thermal design requirements, quarterly pricing updates, and internal cost structures.

  • Perform thermal calculations and sizing using in-house software and technical documentation.

  • Provide quotes for existing customers and spare parts as needed to support installed base.

  • Facilitate customer approvals on order entry, issuing of drawings, ensuring compliance with specifications and managing deviations or revision changes.

  • Collaborate with product development and engineering teams to ensure accurate configurations and cost competitiveness.

  • Develop and maintain detailed costing spreadsheets and pricing models using Excel and internal tools.

  • Track and follow up on open quotations, approvals, and shipments to drive closure and customer satisfaction.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in quotation, costing, and technical approval processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related technical field preferred.

  • 3-5 years of experience in application engineering, technical sales, or a related role.

  • Strong knowledge of heat exchangers, thermal systems, data centers, power plants, and/or industrial refrigeration.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, costing models).

  • Familiarity with RFQ submittals, CAD, quality checks, and customer approval processes.

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to interface effectively with customers and internal teams.

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
