Job description
The Contents Restoration Technician is responsible for protecting, documenting, packing, moving, cleaning, inventorying, storing, and returning customers' personal belongings during fire, water, and mold restoration projects.
This position works directly under the Lead Contents Technician, who reports to the Mitigation Manager.
Our Contents Technicians help organize every phase of the contents process-from initial pack-out through cleaning, storage, and final pack-back.
Attention to detail, organization, professionalism, and customer service are critical for success.
Primary Responsibilities
- Carefully inventory customer belongings using company iPads and digital software
- Photograph and document contents throughout the restoration process
- Label and organize packed items accurately
- Pack household contents into boxes for transport and storage
- Move furniture safely within the home, garage, storage containers, or PODS
- Prepare furniture for protection during mitigation and reconstruction
- Set up organized work areas for cleaning operations
- Clean contents damaged by smoke, soot, dust, and construction debris
- Perform detailed hand cleaning using approved restoration chemicals
- HEPA vacuum contents when appropriate
- Organize cleaned items for storage or pack-back
- Assist with fire restoration projects
- Assist with water mitigation projects when needed
- Maintain organized inventory throughout each project
- Load and unload company vehicles
- Work alongside restoration technicians during emergency losses
- Maintain clean, organized job sites
- Complete daily documentation using company software
- Follow IICRC standards and company procedures
House Cleaning Responsibilities
After demolition and contents removal, our Contents Technicians also perform detailed structural cleaning.
Responsibilities include:
- HEPA vacuuming
- Cleaning walls, ceilings, trim, cabinets, and hard surfaces
- Smoke residue removal
- Chemical wiping of surfaces
- Final cleaning before reconstruction
- Garage cleaning stations
- Outdoor shade-tent cleaning stations when needed
Much of this work is completed on-site at customer homes.
Daily Expectations
Every technician is expected to:
- Arrive on time every day
- Maintain a positive attitude
- Treat every customer's belongings with extreme care
- Communicate professionally with homeowners
- Maintain an organized work area
- Wear proper PPE
- Follow Lead Technician instructions
- Complete digital documentation daily
- Work efficiently without sacrificing quality
- Represent Buk Restoration professionally
- Maintain a clean appearance suitable for working inside occupied homes
Requirements
Applicants must have previous experience in one or more of the following:
- Residential or commercial cleaning
- Professional moving
- Packing services
- Household organization
- Contents restoration
- Furniture handling
- Warehouse shipping and receiving
- Hospitality housekeeping
- Restoration industry
Applicants with no relevant experience will not be considered.
Customer Service Expectations
This position works inside occupied homes every day.
Successful candidates must:
- Speak and understand English well
- Communicate confidently with homeowners

- Be trustworthy while handling personal belongings

Technology Requirements
Technicians should be comfortable using:

- Digital inventory software
- Company mobile applications
- Timekeeping applications
- Google Workspace
- Digital photographs and documentation, * Lift and carry 75 pounds repeatedly
- Frequently lift boxes and furniture
- Push and pull loaded carts
- Stand for extended periods
- Bend, kneel, squat, and climb stairs
- Work inside homes, garages, warehouses, and outdoor workstations
- Work in smoky fire-damaged environments
- Work in warm, cold, dusty, or dirty conditions
- Wear respirators and PPE when required
Transportation Requirements
Applicants must have reliable transportation to work.
Depending on the day's schedule, employees may:
- Meet at the Buk Restoration office and ride in company vehicles
- Drive a company vehicle to job sites (if approved)
- Drive their personal vehicle directly to assigned job sites when instructed
A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.

- Pass a criminal background check
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Maintain a valid driver's license
- Maintain an acceptable driving record
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Maintain a professional appearance suitable for in-home customer service

Buk Restoration is a locally owned, family-operated restoration company serving the Treasure Valley. We specialize in emergency water damage mitigation, fire damage restoration, contents restoration, mold remediation, asbestos coordination, reconstruction, and residential remodeling.
We're looking for hardworking, organized, and customer-focused Contents Restoration Technicians to help homeowners recover after fire, water, and mold damage.
This is not a warehouse moving job.
Our Contents Technicians are trusted professionals who work inside customers' homes, carefully inventorying, packing, cleaning, protecting, and restoring personal belongings during some of the most stressful times in a family's life.

Compensation & Benefits
Pay: $15.00 - $23.00 per hour (DOE)

Typical hours: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Because Buk Restoration provides emergency restoration services, occasional overtime or extended hours may be required during large fire losses, storm events, or emergency projects., Performance will be evaluated on:
