Job description

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Manufacturing Technician with hands-on experience in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and advanced inspection techniques. This role involves working with very small, high-precision components in a cleanroom environment, supporting engineering builds and new product development. The ideal candidate is skilled in AOI, X-Ray inspection, microscope use, and thrives in a fast-paced, quality-driven manufacturing setting., * Set up, operate, and monitor SMT equipment, including pick-and-place systems, in accordance with documented work instructions.

  • Perform inspection of assemblies using Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), X-Ray systems, and microscopes to ensure product quality and compliance.
  • Handle and assemble miniature and microelectronic components with a high degree of precision and care.
  • Interpret microcircuit layout drawings and engineering specifications to support accurate assembly and inspection processes.
  • Maintain strict attention to detail for both product quality and production documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to support product development, engineering builds, and process improvements.
  • Work from production schedules, process plans, and technical instructions to meet deadlines and priorities.
  • Demonstrate strong time management skills to effectively balance multiple tasks in a high-mix production environment.
  • Support and maintain 6S standards to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
  • Follow all ESD protocols and cleanroom procedures to ensure product integrity.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in microelectronics or SMT assembly.

  • Hands-on experience with SMT processes, AOI, X-Ray inspection, and microscope-based work preferred.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience operating SMT pick-and-place equipment (e.g., Mydata or similar).

  • Proficiency in microscope inspection and working with fine-pitch or small-scale components.

  • Familiarity with IPC-610 quality standards.

  • Ability to read and write in English.

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and email communication.

  • Ability to maintain exceptional attention to detail in a precision manufacturing environment.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Work Environment

  • Cleanroom setting requiring use of smocks, gloves, and masks.

  • Work involves extended periods of microscope use and handling delicate, microscopic components.
