Our client's Cloud Infrastructure Platform Engineering team designs and deploys robust infrastructure solutions supporting enterprise products and services across local, state, federal, and private-sector organizations with government missions. The team is automation-first, deploying all cloud resources through code, and engineers collaborate closely with internal product teams to deliver scalable, adaptable solutions., This is a great opportunity for a junior engineer ready to level up. You will work with Ansible, Terraform, and GitLab CI/CD in a real production environment, guided by senior engineers who are invested in your growth. What You'll Do
- Execute and develop Ansible playbooks and roles to automate configuration, provisioning, and maintenance tasks across cloud environments
- Support deployment and maintenance of infrastructure across cloud service providers by assisting with Terraform configurations under senior engineer guidance
- Assist in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, including writing and troubleshooting pipeline jobs
- Deploy and support containerized services using Docker and/or Kubernetes
- Apply a security-first mindset across all responsibilities, including Linux hardening and access control
- Support monitoring, logging, and configuration management in a multi-tenant cloud environment
- Contribute to standard operating procedures, knowledge base articles, and technical documentation
- Leverage generative AI tools to improve efficiency and consistency in day-to-day infrastructure tasks
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold ONLY U.S. Citizenship. No dual citizens will be considered. This is a firm client requirement with no exceptions.
- Must be able to work onsite in Austin, TX a minimum of 3 days per week.
- W-2 only. No C2C, no 1099, no third-party agencies., * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- 3 or more years of experience with Ansible, including playbook and role development
- Hands-on experience in Linux environments, including administration and troubleshooting
- Experience working within CI/CD workflows and version-controlled infrastructure
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (bash or Python)
- Familiarity with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and its foundational services
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals: IP routing, subnetting, DNS, and TCP/IP
Preferred:
- Hands-on experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools
- Exposure to identity management concepts such as RBAC or SSO
- Experience with logging and monitoring tools in a cloud environment
- Familiarity with secrets management tools such as HashiCorp Vault
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and team collaboration, * Bachelor's (Required)
