Job description
The Systems Analyst will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, support, and continuous improvement of the district's information management and enterprise technology systems. These systems include, but are not limited to, student information systems, employee systems, financial and human resources systems, identity and access management platforms, learning management systems, library automation systems, end-user device management solutions, and other current district-supported applications and digital resources., Core System Administration & Support:
· Administer, configure, and optimize mobile device management and endpoint management solutions used to manage iOS, macOS, ChromeOS, and other district-supported devices.
· Provide technical support and troubleshooting for the student information system.
· Manage and maintain the library automation system.
· Support identity and access management, automated account provisioning, role-based access, and single sign-on systems to ensure secure and seamless user access across district platforms .
· Administer and optimize learning management system to enhance digital learning experiences for students and staff.
· Support the administration, configuration, maintenance, user access, reporting, workflow support, and troubleshooting of employee, financial, and human resources systems in collaboration with appropriate district departments.
· Manage other district systems as assigned and a ccept any other assignment as deemed necessary by immediate supervisor.
· Maintain and monitor district digital certificates, including SSL/TLS certificates, code-signing certificates, and other system certificates; track expiration dates, coordinate timely renewals, install and validate certificates, and maintain accurate documentation to ensure uninterrupted access to district systems and services.
Technical Implementation & Maintenance:
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new features, updates, and enhancements for supported systems.
· Ensure assigned systems follow district cybersecurity standards, data privacy requirements, access control procedures, and applicable federal, state, and district policies related to student and employee information .
· Monitor system performance, proactively identifying and addressing issues to minimize downtime.
· Develop and maintain system documentation, including configuration settings, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
· Support the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise technology systems, including the use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, automation tools, and workflow solutions to improve system efficiency, reduce manual processes, enhance data accuracy, and support district operations.
User Training & Support:
· Provide end-user training and support to educators, administrative staff, and students to maximize the utilization of technology resources.
· Develop user-friendly guides and FAQs to assist with common technical issues.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated support requests related to assigned systems.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
· Work closely with IT leadership and educational stakeholders to align technology solutions with instructional and operational goals.
· Research and recommend emerging technologies to enhance system capabilities and user experience.
· Participate in technology planning and strategy meetings to support district-wide initiatives.
· Acquire a minimum of 12 hours of professional development each year relevant to the position.
Knowledge, Skills & Ability:
Business Analysis:
- Understanding business operations, identifying pain points, and translating business needs into system requirements.
System Design:
- Creating conceptual and technical designs for systems, including data models, user interfaces, and workflow diagrams.
Data Modeling:
- Defining data structures and relationships within a system to ensure data integrity.
- System Development Methodologies:
- Familiarity with project management approaches like Agile, Waterfall, or Scrum.
Technical Skills:
- Basic understanding of programming languages (i.e., Java, Python), database management systems (i.e., MySQL, Oracle), and network and security concepts.
Communication Skills:
- Effectively communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Testing and Quality Assurance:
· Participating in system testing to ensure quality and functionality.
Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in computer science or a technology-related field, or five (5) years of experience maintaining an enterprise-level system in a K-12 or public-sector environment.
· Experience in customer service, software support, software training, and technology.
· Ability to work in a team environment to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
· Ability to communicate technical information effectively to other departments.
· Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Must be CompTIA Cloud+ certified. If the applicant is not CompTIA Cloud+ certified, the applicant must agree to obtain CompTIA Cloud+ certification within two (2) years of employment. Employment continuation is contingent upon meeting certification requirements within the established timeframe, subject to Board policy and applicable procedures.
· Must be CompTIA Security+ certified. If the applicant is not CompTIA Security+ certified, the applicant must agree to obtain CompTIA Security+ certification within two (2) years of employment. · Must have the Microsoft Azure Fundamentals AZ-900 credential. If the applicant does not have the Microsoft Azure Fundamentals AZ-900 credential, the applicant must agree to obtain the Microsoft Azure Fundamentals AZ-900 credential within two (2) years of employment. Continued employment is contingent upon meeting this credential requirement within the established timeframe, subject to Board policy and applicable procedures., eligibility.
