Job description
The Lead Quality Technician oversees the quality inspector team. The Lead Quality Technician works in production facilities and customer locations to make sure that products being produced or sold meet the expectations of our customer. A Lead Quality Technician examines materials to make sure they meet the provided quality standards and expectations, and then records the inspection results in our project tracking system. Lead Quality Technicians may also follow up with the appropriate customer channels when repairs are completed, or rejects are found.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversee onsite team and report any issues to corporate operations team.
- Review onsite quality team's reporting and timekeeping., * Oversee and supervise onsite quality inspector team ensuring proper communication and efficient use of team's time.
- Report any issues with resources to upline management.
- Be the onsite customer service liaison and report any issues to corporate office.
- Inspect using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring features, and examining functionality.
- Record inspection results by completing reports (summarizing parts: good, repaired, and rejected) and inputting data company quality database.
- Establish and ensure standards and workflow for the inspection process are followed.
- Work with customer to understand provided work instructions.
- Communicate effectively and often with other team members.
- Review reports and timecards for onsite quality team.
- Adhere to work site rules and guidelines.
- Any other duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization's Values
Requirements

- Smart Device literacy (Cell phone, tablet)
- Familiarity with technology; some experience with MS Office Suite
- Ability to consistently identify mistakes across thousands of inspections
- Ability to closely follow quality standards
- Decision-making skills as in acceptable / not acceptable features
- 80% Travel Availability
- Ability to travel to multiple customer facilities
- Ability to properly use basic measuring devices preferred: Calipers, Micrometers, etc.
- Ability to read engineering drawings preferred
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license in good standing through employment, as the role may involve travel to various work sites., * High school diploma or GED.
- Previous quality assurance experience.
- Three years manufacturing experience preferred.
- IPC Certification, preferred.
- Electronic wiring experience preferred
- Forklift Certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift, up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
- Ability to stand for a minimum of eight hours a day.
- Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
- Visual acuity necessary to perform a given task, * Leadership: 3 years (Required)
- Quality assurance: 3 years (Required)
