Job description

What this job involves: The Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM) Lead is responsible for the strategic design, governance, and continuous improvement of the global ALM program across the organization's data centers. This role defines policies, standards, and metrics to ensure IT assets are tracked, managed, and disposed of securely and efficiently throughout their lifecycle while collaborating with operations, procurement, finance, compliance, and security stakeholders to align ALM with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Own and define the global ALM program framework, policies, and governance structure while establishing standards for asset tracking, lifecycle management, and secure disposal

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST) while maintaining oversight of audits, asset reconciliations, and data-bearing device disposal processes

  • Partner with Data Center Operations, IT, Finance, Procurement, and Security teams to align ALM activities with organizational priorities and serve as primary liaison to executive stakeholders

  • Provide guidance and escalation support to ALM Leads and Technicians across sites while overseeing capacity and lifecycle planning for hardware refresh initiatives

  • Drive automation and process optimization in ALM workflows through integration with ITSM, CMDB, and DCIM platforms

  • Manage program-level reporting to ensure executive visibility into asset health, utilization, and cost optimization

  • Champion sustainability initiatives by improving recycling, reuse, and energy-efficiency practices across the asset lifecycle

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field with minimum 7+ years of asset management experience

  • Proven experience leading enterprise-scale asset lifecycle management programs in data center or large IT environments

  • Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks and industry standards including ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, and ITIL

  • Demonstrated experience with ITSM, CMDB, and DCIM platforms for asset tracking and lifecycle management

  • Advanced project management skills with ability to drive cross-functional initiatives and stakeholder alignment

  • Strong analytical skills with experience developing KPIs, SLAs, and executive-level reporting for asset programs

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills for managing global teams and presenting to executive stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certifications such as ITIL Expert, PMP, or asset management specific certifications (IAITAM, etc.)

  • Experience with data center operations and infrastructure lifecycle planning

  • Knowledge of sustainability practices and environmental compliance in IT asset disposal

  • Background in vendor management and contract negotiation for lifecycle services

  • Familiarity with automation tools and process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)

  • Experience with financial modeling and cost optimization strategies for IT assets

  • Understanding of emerging technologies and their impact on asset lifecycle management
