Job description
You will play a key role in shaping the digital future of the Bergstraße District Hospital. Whether it's digitalization, KHZG projects, telemedicine, telematics infrastructure, medical device networking, or cybersecurity-you will consistently drive the IT strategy forward and ensure secure, stable, and modern IT operations. In doing so, you will work closely with the specialist departments of Heidelberg University Hospital.
- Ensuring the smooth operation of the entire server and client landscape (including IGEL, Windows Server 2016-2025, Windows FAT Clients)
- Responsibility for configuration, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting in day-to-day IT operations
- Implementation, support, and further development of software modules in a dynamic and growth-oriented environment
- Optional deputy leadership of a team currently consisting of 7 employees, as well as reporting to management bodies
- Supporting the comprehensive renovation of the Bergstraße District Hospital, planned new construction projects, and new acquisitions in the area of IT infrastructure in coordination with the responsible companies and the specialist departments of Heidelberg University Hospital
Requirements
- A completed degree or vocational training with a focus on computer science, systems integration, or a comparable qualification with several years of professional experience
- Ideally, experience working with client and server systems and initial professional experience in connecting medical devices in a hospital setting
- A structured, independent, goal- and service-oriented approach to work, as well as a proactive attitude
- Enthusiasm for innovation and collaboration in the healthcare sector
- Good written and spoken German and English skills
- Ability to work well in a team
- High level of personal commitment and a professional demeanor

About the company
The Bergstraße District Hospital is part of Heidelberg University Hospital and serves as an academic teaching hospital. With 267 beds and approximately 950 employees, it treats over 15,000 inpatients and 35,000 outpatients annually. The hospital has departments of General and Visceral Surgery (including a section for Plastic and Vascular Surgery), Internal Medicine I and II (including a section for Geriatrics and Neurology), gynecology and obstetrics, as well as orthopedics and trauma surgery with a section for spinal surgery. These services are complemented by anesthesiology and intensive care medicine. In addition, the district hospital has an interdisciplinary emergency department that treats approximately 30,000 patients annually, as well as an operating room area with five operating rooms.
