Are you an experienced DevOps Engineer looking for a role where you can influence infrastructure strategy, modernise platforms, and work with cutting-edge technologies? Our client, an innovative international technology company based in the Aachen region, is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to play a key role in developing and operating a modern, secure, and highly automated global IT environment. Tasks You'll be responsible for driving infrastructure improvements, supporting development teams, and building scalable DevOps platforms used across the business. Your Responsibilities
- Design, implement and continuously improve global infrastructure and DevOps solutions
- Help evolve the company's global IT architecture, processes and infrastructure services
- Deliver high-quality 2nd and 3rd line support across infrastructure and DevOps environments
- Standardise, secure and manage Ubuntu Pro as the enterprise client operating system
- Deploy, administer and optimise Kubernetes and container platforms
- Build, maintain and scale GitLab Runner environments and automation infrastructure
- Own the administration, configuration and optimisation of the GitLab platform
- Support development teams as the technical expert for CI/CD infrastructure
- Ensure reliable operation of servers, storage, networking, virtualisation and system integrations
- Identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement across the infrastructure landscape
Requirements

Degree in Computer Science, IT Systems or a related technical discipline

At least 5 years' experience within DevOps, Linux Systems Administration or Enterprise Infrastructure

Strong Linux administration skills with experience managing Ubuntu Pro environments

Experience with virtualisation technologies including Proxmox (PVE), Ceph and PBS

Hands-on experience with container technologies such as:

Kubernetes
-
k3s
-
Docker
-
Podman
-
Experience administering GitLab and GitLab Runners within production environments

Passion for automation, infrastructure reliability and DevOps best practices

Fluent German and English
