Job description

The Application Development & Technical Service (AD/TS) Specialist - Polymers serves as the key technical expert for polymer applications, supporting customers and internal stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle., * Provide technical support and application development for polymer applications, including thermoplastics, thermosets, elastomers, and PVC.

  • Analyze customer requirements and develop formulation, processing, and material recommendations.
  • Conduct and interpret lab trials, compounding, and application testing.
  • Support customer visits, technical presentations, troubleshooting, and strategic projects.
  • Contribute to new product development (NPD), innovation initiatives, and market-driven opportunities.
  • Investigate technical issues and provide practical, data-driven solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, R&D, Production, Quality, and Planning teams.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and act as internal point of contact for polymer-related technologies.

Requirements

  • Degree in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
  • Several years of experience in polymer processing (compounding, extrusion, molding), application development, and technical service
  • Knowledge of polymer formulations, additives, and processing technologies (extrusion, compounding, etc.)
  • Experience with flame retardant systems (ATH/MDH) is an advantage
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer-facing skills
  • Very good written and spoken English and German language skills
  • Ability to explain complex technical topics to non-experts
  • Hands-on, laboratory-oriented, and collaborative working style
