Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated technical senior consultant to join EMEA Climate & Nature team.

This is a delivery role engaging directly with the market to support major sustainability projects to our clients.

It will involve collaborating with global Anthesis sustainability experts and with other consultants not only to deliver great projects but also to develop new innovative ways of approaching sustainability.

You will have the opportunity to own market-leading projects in areas such as GHG inventory development, target setting (SBT's and Net Zero), transition plans, climate risk management, Internal carbon pricing and much more.

You will be supported by a large team of experts both in the UK and across our global analytics teams.

We are seeking someone with personal passion for sustainability, eager to learn with a drive to have impact., This role spans several dimensions. You'll be stronger in some than others, but you should have the appetite and the capability to lead across all of them:

  • Performing detailed calculations for greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental metrics, ensuring robustness and consistency.

  • Preparing high-quality technical reports, drawing on expertise from across the wider team and the broader organisation.

  • Writing proposals for new business, in collaboration with the existing team.

  • Be independent in engaging with a wide variety of clients, often in senior roles within their business.

  • Attending and, where appropriate, leading client meetings to support project delivery and business development.

  • Managing multiple projects and workstreams independently, delivering to tight deadlines with limited supervision.

  • Continuously developing technical expertise, supported by senior colleagues, while mentoring and guiding junior team members, including providing training and support where needed.

Requirements

You must be a self-starter with initiative who can flex across client sectors and services areas to deliver excellence and value for our clients., * Bachelor's or Master's degree in sustainability, environmental science or business-related disciplines (e.g. economics, finance), ideally with a focus on sustainability or climate.

  • Ideally 5+- years of relevant professional experience in climate, ESG, or sustainability consulting.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g. modelling, large datasets); experience with other analytics and visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) is beneficial.
  • Experience with GHG accounting methodologies and frameworks (e.g. PCAF, GHG Protocol, SBTi, ISO), including PCF.
  • Strong understanding of key frameworks and regulations (e.g., GHG protocol, SBTi).
  • Good understanding of value chains and Scope 3 emissions.
  • Strong communication and consulting skills; particularly an understanding of the sustainability challenges that organisations face in today's climate.
  • Excellent project management skills: ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget and to client expectations.
  • Team player with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
  • Language capabilities: Fluency in German and English (both written and verbal) is strictly required for client delivery.
  • Additional language capabilities are preferred to support global and regional engagements.
