Senior Engineer Machine Learning / AI

• Design and implementation of cloud-based AI solutions (machine learning, generative AI, agent systems) for core processes such as claims, pricing, and customer service
• Productive deployment of scalable ML and GenAI workloads in close collaboration with our MLOps colleagues
• Selection and implementation of modern architectures and tools for ML workflows, as well as active participation in shaping the data science and AI toolstack
• Design and implementation of standards and best practices for Machine Learning Engineers (w/m/d) and Data Scientists (w/m/d)
• Providing mentoring, reviews, and coaching-particularly on cloud-related topics-as well as end-to-end responsibility from data to operations
• Collaboration within an interdisciplinary team of data scientists (w/m/d), machine learning engineers (w/m/d), and domain and IT experts

• A completed degree (at least a master's, ideally a Ph.D.) in Data Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field
• Several years of practical experience as a Machine Learning/AI Engineer, ideally in a senior role with project responsibility
• In-depth theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of machine learning engineering, such as: containers (Docker), Kubernetes, IaC, CI/CD, MLflow, Airflow, AWS (S3, Step Functions, Lambda, SageMaker, Bedrock, …)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts
• Independent, goal-oriented work style with a high degree of personal responsibility and a willingness to take ownership of projects and results
• Hybrid work model: Willingness to work on-site in Coburg
