Job description
We're looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer to join our Creative Studio as the primary design owner of the HOLY Shop. You'll be responsible for the customer journey and design quality across our entire Shop, from homepage to checkout, across four markets. That means building and governing the design system that makes us scalable, designing the experiences that convert visitors into Squad members, writing the specs our external dev agency builds from, and QA-ing their output before anything goes live. Working as a dedicated partner to the Shop team, you are the bridge between HOLY's creative vision and how it actually performs in market, and this is your chance to shape that from the ground up., Build, govern, and scale HOLY's Figma component library - the foundation for visual consistency, speed, and on-brand execution across the Shop.
-
Brand storytelling: Lead the optimization of HOLY's highest-impact pages as part of the roadmap; translating brand narrative into experiences that educate and convert.
-
Design handoff and QA: Write precise, documented design specs that external developers can build from without guesswork. QA their output in staging to catch responsive and visual regressions before every deploy.
-
Mobile-first design: Design and specify responsive experiences across all breakpoints, with mobile as the primary canvas for ~89% of traffic. Define interaction states, edge cases, and layout behavior for all screen sizes.
-
Conversion and upsell mechanics: Design upsell and conversion mechanics (such as our Mix & Match bundle builder, cart and checkout upsell, and freebie incentive pages) in close collaboration with the CRO Manager.
-
Campaign landing pages: Deliver new pages at pace for flavor and product category launches, balancing velocity with design system consistency.
-
A/B testing and data literacy: Contribute to test hypotheses across all design work and use analytics (GA4/Shopify) to interpret results and inform future design decisions.
-
Cross-functional partnership: Act as the bridge between the Creative Studio and the Shop team, co-owning how the HOLY brand comes to life on the Shop, and collaborating closely with a Senior Graphic Designer, external devs, CRM, and the CRO Manager., As we are experiencing rapid growth and have ambitious plans, the optimal start date for the position is today. Nonetheless, we are prepared to patiently await the arrival of the ideal candidate, recognizing that quality ultimately yields the best results.
Getting to know you: We will have a 30 minute screening interview where we will talk to you more about HOLY and the position and see if our expectations match.
- Hiring Manager interview with Bella, our Creative Studio Lead: We will dive a bit deeper into your experience and details of the role.
- Case study & on-site interview: As soon as you have successfully completed the first interviews, you will receive a case study. In a second meeting at our office, the team will discuss your case study with you and answer questions about our workspace, the HOLY Temple.
- Reference calls: At this stage, we'd like to connect with 1-2 former colleagues or managers who have worked closely with you. These conversations help us better understand your working style and strengths from those who know you professionally.
- Interview with Matze: As a strong cultural fit is important to us, you will have a final meeting withMatze, one of our HOLY Founders. This gives both you and us the opportunity for a final check.
- Job offer and decision: If everything goes well, you will receive an offer and we are ready to embark you this journey together with you!
Requirements
5-8 years designing for conversion-driven D2C or e-commerce brands, with a strong mobile-first portfolio. Deep familiarity with core page types - product detail, collection, cart, checkout, navigation, and loyalty flows. Track record of improving CVR, AOV, or RPS.
-
Technical UX fluency: Able to read (not write) HTML, CSS, and Liquid. Understands Shopify theme architecture and metaobject concepts well enough to spec realistically, perform light theme-editor tweaks, and have productive conversations with developers.
-
Figma expertise: Advanced command of components, variants, auto-layout, prototyping, and tokens. Has built or governed a component library at scale and knows how to implement and enforce adoption across a team.
-
UI design sensibility: Able to interpret and apply HOLY's brand guidelines and creative direction to Shop UI, translating vision from the Creative Studio into on-brand execution. Secondary to UX, but important for maintaining visual consistency across all of HOLY's channels.
-
Senior-level ownership: Self-directed, proactive, and detail-oriented. Drives work end-to-end without hand-holding, holds standards, and raises the bar rather than waiting to be pushed.
-
Nice to have: Experience with A/B testing, motion and interaction design, accessibility (WCAG), Shopify-specific design, analytics literacy (Google Analytics 4 and Shopify), and AI tools.
-
Language: English working proficiency required; German is a plus.
