Job description
- Implementing new features and refactoring existing code in Java client of Simcenter STAR-CCM+.
- Collaborating closely with colleagues through tools like Jira, Confluence, Git and Bitbucket.
- Joining forces with our UX and vertical teams to craft efficient user workflows.
- Thriving with a modern IDE in a large, distributed environment.
- Working together through peer-based design and code reviews.
- Building and maintaining automated unit and integration tests.
- Navigating an extensive code base: hundreds of modules and millions of lines.
- Traveling occasionally to collaborate in person.
Requirements
You care deeply about clean, modular design, long-term maintainability, and user experience, and you're confident suggesting improvements that elevate both code and collaboration. You'll contribute thoughtfully to a shared codebase used by a global community of over 300 developers, balancing attention to detail with the confidence to evolve and enhance existing solutions., * Degree or commensurate experience in computer science, engineering or mathematics with 3+ years of post-academic experience in software design and development.
- Expertise in crafting client-server, desktop products for Linux and Windows.
- Strong knowledge of the Java language, including modern features.
- Experience developing Java clients in Swing/NetBeans (the framework, not the IDE) or a similar framework.
- Application development with large-scale datasets and detailed performance and quality requirements.
- Handling large, legacy code bases.
- Using a distributed version control system such as Git.
- Issue management using Jira or a comparable system.
- Ability to communicate sophisticated technical issues clearly and concisely., * Experience with developing a scientific or engineering software application.
- Experience working in a distributed team across multiple time zones.
- Programming in modern C++.
- Programming web applications.
- Expertise in Physics and Mathematics
Benefits & conditions
The primary locations for this opportunity are Italy, Greece, and Spain. The applicable salary ranges for these locations are:
49,000 - 81,100 (Italy)
32,100 - 64,200 (Greece)
52,100 - 83,300 (Spain)
This role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
