Cloud-Edge Systems Engineering Advisor (Contractor) Join the OpenNebula Systems team as a Cloud-Edge Systems Engineering Advisor to provide expert advice and support services throughout the design, implementation, and operational phases of our edge computing project. Responsibilities Provide expert guidance on security and sustainability for architecture and lifecycle management of cloud-edge systems across heterogeneous environments (e.g., low-resource, 5G, high-performance). Advise on design and validation of the management layer for the DC-Cloud-Edge continuum. Support documentation and structuring of technical deliverables, ensuring quality, coherence, and interoperability. Assist in review and refinement of deployment scenarios and integration workflows. Offer technical input on Release Notes, Use Case implementations, and infrastructure blueprints. Contribute to evaluation of emerging technologies and architectural decisions. Support knowledge transfer and promote standardized

approaches. Provide feedback and support collaboration activities with other IPCEI-CIS partners and ecosystem stakeholders. Qualifications - +5 years of hands-on experience as systems architect in cloud computing management, orchestration, security and monitoring. - Bachelor, Master or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. - Additional years of experience in projects to improve cloud-edge systems deployment and operation. Contract Duration From January 16, 2026 to June 30, 2026 (approximately 5 months). Location Remote (occasionally face-to-face coordination meetings). Compensation Maximum hourly rate is 30 EUR. Maximum work hours per year is 1,800. The maximum estimated cost is €4,500 per month, totaling €22,500. Technical Specifications Contractors must demonstrate the following requirements: - +5 years of hands-on experience as systems architect. Administrative Requirements Before the signature of the contract, the successful selected contractor will be requested to provide certificates related to social security, tax obligations, census registration, and several data transfer declarations pursuant to the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan.
