Job description

We are looking for a Sustaining & Product Support Engineer to join our Technology team in Hemel Hempstead. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to play a key role in supporting existing products throughout their lifecycle while driving continuous improvement.

Working as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, you will help ensure that engineering processes run efficiently and that product data remains accurate and robust. You will contribute to solving real-world challenges such as product obsolescence, quality improvements, and value engineering initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Driving engineering changes and continuous improvements through formal change processes
  • Creating and updating engineering drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation
  • Supporting product lifecycle activities, maintaining integrity of product data
  • Working closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Service, and Programme teams to implement improvements
  • Advising stakeholders on change implementation, timelines, and potential impacts
  • Supporting operations with the rollout of product updates and enhancements
  • Contributing to ongoing process improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Degree or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Up to 2 years' engineering experience
  • Experience using SolidWorks (3D CAD) and product data management systems
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work across teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT tools
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take ownership
  • Eligibility for UK Security Check (SC) clearance

Desirable

  • Awareness of engineering lifecycle processes and gated design methodologies
  • Understanding of ERP systems and business tools
  • Knowledge of military or regulated industry standards
