Job description
iOS Systems Engineer (C++ ARM CPU Computer Vision) London onsite to £150k
Are you a low level systems engineer who enjoys pushing mobile hardware to its limits?
You could be progressing your career in an impactful role, working on a "tech for good" product with the aim of transforming the lives of the visually impaired.
As an iOS Systems Engineer you'll join a cutting edge engineering team developing next generation computer vision technology, where you'll optimise complex mathematical algorithms to run in real time on resource-constrained iOS devices.
This is not a traditional iOS development role - you'll work beneath the application layer, solving challenging performance, memory and concurrency problems to deliver ultra-low latency on ARM based mobile hardware.
You'll create advanced C++ and Rust codebases, optimise sensor fusion algorithms and Ceres solvers, fine-tune threading and memory management and integrate high performance native code with Swift applications.
You'll play a key role in defining the technical direction of the platform, working with a high degree of autonomy while mentoring other engineers.
This is a rare opportunity to tackle genuinely challenging engineering problems at the intersection of mobile systems, computer vision and high-performance computing, working with exceptional engineers on technology that pushes the limits of what's possible on modern mobile devices.
Requirements
- You have strong low level systems programming experience with C++ and / or Rust
- You have expertise in performance optimisation, multithreading, memory management and ARM CPU architecture
- You have experience developing complex mobile infrastructure, game engines, rendering engines, computer vision systems or mobile platform tooling
- You have a deep understanding of iOS internals and integrating native code with Swift / SwiftUI applications (will also consider Android experience)
- You can solve complex technical problems independently and influence architectural decisions
- You take pride in building highly optimised, production quality software that operates under demanding real-time constraints
Benefits & conditions
- Total compensation of £150k (base salary + equity)
- Influential, high impact role
- Work on tech for good and use your tech skills to enhance people's lives
