Job description

As a Platform Engineer, you will join an agile engineering team building and improving secure, reliable cloud platforms for major UK public sector programmes. The role is predominantly hands-on and offers scope to become a go-to engineer in your specialist area while broadening your experience across the wider platform stack.

  • Build and maintain cloud infrastructure using AWS and Terraform
  • Support containerised services using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
  • Troubleshoot Linux-based production environments and improve reliability
  • Own defined areas of delivery and contribute to technical decisions
  • Share knowledge, onboard colleagues and support less experienced engineers

Requirements

  • Commercial Platform Engineering, DevOps or Cloud Engineering experience
  • Hands-on AWS experience in a production environment
  • Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform
  • Strong Linux knowledge, including troubleshooting and scripting
  • Experience with Git and modern software delivery practices
  • Exposure to containers, CI/CD and automation tooling
  • Clear communication and a willingness to support and share knowledge with others

Candidates must be willing and eligible to obtain SC clearance. The role is aligned to Manchester, although travel to client or other UK sites may be required.
