Job description
- Take ownership of the individual application modernisation requirement within the overall programme
- Drive solution development and documentation of solution designs, ensuring good architectural practices throughout the lifecycle
- Ensure solutions and artefacts adhere to Architecture Governance processes
- Work with agile development teams and delivery architects through all phases of the solution lifecycle
- Act as the face-off to our internal and external senior stakeholders
- Operate as part of our programme team, reporting to the Programme Lead Architect
- Develop excellent working relationships with our clients
- Manage technical relationships with vendors, third parties, and our wider team
- Ensure solution delivery is performed according to agreed specifications
- Own technical problem management and resolution relevant to solution development

- Oracle, We are supporting the CESA Futures programme within Tax Admin for a Solution Architect role focused on large-scale application modernisation and cloud migration. This is a 6-month contract based in Telford with 2 days per week in the office. The role offers a rate of £700 per day and is inside a Capgemini mandated PAYE-only arrangement. We are driving the adoption of mainstream technology stacks and modern delivery and service capabilities, including public cloud migrations, to significantly reduce technical debt and safely deliver solutions into live operation.
Requirements
- BPSS clearance required
- Experience in application modernisation and public cloud migration
- Experience working with legacy technologies and adapting them to an ecosystem based on AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, HELM, Java, JavaScript, Oracle, and MySQL would be advantageous
- Experience working with agile development teams and delivery architects through all phases of the solution lifecycle
- Ability to own solutions and engage confidently with internal and external senior stakeholders
- Experience operating within a programme team and reporting to a Programme Lead Architect
- Strong relationship management skills with clients, vendors, third parties, and our wider team
- Ability to build trusted advisor relationships through boldness and honesty
- Strong technical problem management and resolution skills relevant to solution development
