Job description
We are partnering with Loyola Marymount University (LMU) to hire a Network Engineer I to support day-to-day network operations across campus.
This is a hands-on, entry-to-mid-level networking role ideal for someone with 2-3 years of real-world experience who wants to grow within a structured IT environment. The position focuses on network support, troubleshooting, documentation, and physical infrastructure work, not high-level network design.

Day-to-Day Network Operations

Support and troubleshoot campus network infrastructure (wired & wireless)

Activate network ports, patch cables, and maintain switch connectivity

Assist with VoIP phone deployments (installation, configuration, activation)

Respond to and resolve network-related tickets
-
Troubleshoot connectivity issues for end users and devices
Infrastructure & Field Work

Perform network closet audits and cable cleanup (especially dorm environments)

Physically install and support networking equipment (switches, phones, access points)

Assist with moves/adds/changes across campus network environments

Assist with IP address tracking and auditing

Document troubleshooting steps, procedures, and resolutions
Requirements

2-3 years of hands-on networking experience (not just academic)

CCNA
-
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, switching, routing basics)

Experience working with Cisco networking equipment

Ability to troubleshoot wired/wireless connectivity issues

Strong communication skills (critical for success in this role)

Willingness to perform hands-on / physical infrastructure work (closets, cabling)

Experience in ticketing environments and operational IT support

Familiarity with VoIP or wireless networking concepts

This is a Contract position based out of Los Angeles, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $46.00/hr.
