Job description
- Lead cost support for the Space Systems Command (SSC) SBST mission area, working alongside Program Control Support staff as specified by the Customer.
- Interface securely and effectively with Space Force project officers, external USG partners, and commercial vendors.
- Direct cost modeling and execute launch vehicle "quick reaction" scenario studies.
- Leverage expert subject matter expertise to address complex scenarios presented by SSC and USSF leadership-develop, oversee, and maintain the requisite tools, databases, and systems required to maximize estimate accuracy/reliability while minimizing estimate development time.
- Provide high-level input to specialized independent cost estimating products with a defined scope and end product on an as-needed basis.
- Mentor and teach junior analysts and program managers the cost analysis and estimation process, as well as the advanced mathematical concepts underlying them.
- Utilize advanced modeling and estimation subject matter expertise to coordinate securely with external estimating organizations, including but not limited to the DAF/AFCAA and OSD/CAPE.
- Oversee data analysis and performance visualization to safeguard government interests.
- Conduct rigorous evaluation and documentation for high-visibility acquisition strategies.
- Create advanced cost estimating relationships (CER) through modeling and data analysis, utilizing commercial tools and supporting the Cost Analysis Data Operating Model (CADOM).
Requirements
- Master's degree (MA/MS) is required.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience.
- Expert experience in cost estimating, program management, contract negotiations, and technical reviews across military systems.
- Extensive knowledge of DoD budgetary principles and procedures.
- Demonstrated expert knowledge of acquisition management regulations, practices, policies, and procedures, including major system acquisition lifecycle resource planning, Acquisition Program Baseline (APB) development, and PMPs.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Advanced operational judgment and the skill to recognize when decisions or information should be escalated to higher authorities. Desired Qualifications o Proven leadership in directing strategic cost estimates for major defense acquisition programs. Core Competencies

Work Environment @ Will perform duties daily on-site in a customer SCIF. @ On-site leadership role in a high-visibility environment requiring independent execution and team oversight. @ Some domestic travel may be required. Security Clearance
- Active DoD TS/SCI Security Clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required. Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000/year, DOE. Bachelor's degree required, preferably in math, engineering, or the sciences.
