Job description

The Strategic Relations and Communications Department at CU Boulder invites applications for a Web Operations (WebOps) & Automation Engineer! • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in a related field. A combination of education and related experience may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • Familiarity with Git and a desire to automate manual tasks., * Scripting: Proficiency in Python, PHP, or Bash for automating workflows.
  • Web Stack: Experience with Drupal or WordPress and an understanding of how the LAMP/LEMP stack functions in a cloud environment.
  • The Terminal: Comfort working in a Linux/Unix command-line environment (Lando, DDEV, or similar local dev environments).
  • Problem Solving: A "systems-thinking" approach-when a problem happens twice, you want to write a script so it never happens a third time.

What We Would Like You to Have

  • Experience with managed hosting platforms (specifically Pantheon).
  • Knowledge of GitHub Actions or automated testing suites like Playwright.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native concepts (even if you aren't managing the clusters yourself).

Benefits & conditions

  • This is a 2-year limited-term position with the possibility of extension beyond the limited term, depending on departmental budgets.
