Job description

As the Lead Specialist - Data Center Integration, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor supporting the deployment, integration, validation, and commissioning of advanced data center infrastructure solutions. As part of WESCO's Advanced Technology Support (ATS) team, you will provide expertise across compute, storage, networking, GPU, power, cooling, and rack-level infrastructure technologies. Acting as a liaison between customers, sales teams, technology partners, and internal stakeholders, you will support complex infrastructure projects and help customers successfully deploy and operationalize modern data center environments. The ATS team supports large, strategic opportunities globally while serving as a technical resource across multiple WESCO business units., * Establish WESCO's credibility with end-user customers and deliver value throughout the sales cycle as the technical liaison. Position standards-based technology solutions and provide deliverables including BOMs, rack elevations, designs, implementation documentation, and written specifications.

  • Serve as a technical resource within assigned territories, supporting sales strategies and customer engagements involving advanced data center infrastructure, compute, storage, networking, GPU, power, cooling, and rack-level technologies.
  • Support the integration, validation, commissioning, and deployment readiness of complex infrastructure solutions by reviewing rack elevations, BOMs, cable schedules, port maps, IP plans, power requirements, and cooling requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise during infrastructure bring-up activities, including hardware installation, cabling verification, power validation, operating system deployment support, firmware validation, and infrastructure acceptance testing.
  • Validate servers, storage platforms, networking equipment, GPU systems, power distribution infrastructure, cooling systems, and associated management platforms to support successful customer deployments.
  • Collaborate with customer engineering teams and technical stakeholders to support Linux-based infrastructure deployments, provisioning activities, system validation, troubleshooting, and deployment best practices.
  • Support validation of Ethernet, InfiniBand, storage, management, and provisioning networks while assisting customers with connectivity, configuration, and performance-related issues.
  • Assist with hardware, firmware, operating system, networking, storage, and infrastructure troubleshooting while supporting root-cause analysis and corrective action planning.
  • Support evaluation and validation of advanced cooling technologies, including liquid-cooled and air-cooled infrastructure solutions where applicable.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, implementation procedures, validation checklists, testing methodologies, troubleshooting guides, and operational best practices.
  • Utilize the Global Technical Resource Center (GTRC) and Solutions Support resources as part of a scalable project delivery strategy to improve turnaround times and increase customer success.
  • Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and hands-on training sessions for customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Serve as a technical liaison with Technology Alliance Partners (TAPs) and strategic manufacturers to identify opportunities and strengthen WESCO's position as a trusted advisor.
  • Participate in advanced technical training and maintain relevant industry certifications and credentials aligned with evolving customer and technology requirements.
  • Mentor junior technical team members and serve as a technical escalation point for complex infrastructure and integration activities.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (U.S.)/College Diploma (Canada) or commensurate years of technical experience required
  • Licenses/Certificates/Designations based on technical field of expertise required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related technical discipline, or commensurate years of technical experience (preferred)
  • 9+ years of experience in technical design, implementation, deployment, commissioning, integration, or support of data center and infrastructure technologies
  • Experience supporting data center infrastructure, server platforms, storage systems, networking technologies, power distribution, cooling systems, or related technology environments
  • Working knowledge of Linux operating systems and infrastructure troubleshooting methodologies
  • Experience with server deployment, operating system installation, provisioning, firmware management, and infrastructure validation activities
  • Familiarity with BIOS, BMC, Redfish, IPMI, hardware management platforms, and infrastructure monitoring tools (preferred)
  • Experience supporting Ethernet networking, InfiniBand, storage networks, structured cabling systems, and data center connectivity technologies (preferred)
  • Familiarity with automation, configuration management, monitoring, orchestration, or infrastructure management tools (preferred)
  • Experience with Kubernetes, container platforms, cluster-management technologies, or high-performance computing environments (preferred)
  • Experience supporting GPU-based, AI, or high-density compute environments (preferred)
  • Experience with liquid-cooled infrastructure, CDU technologies, direct-to-chip cooling, or thermal management solutions (preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret rack elevations, BOMs, cable schedules, port maps, IP plans, network diagrams, and implementation documentation
  • 5 years experience designing using Visio, AutoCAD 2D, JVSG, iBwave, or similar tools (preferred)
  • BICSI RCDD, OSP, NTS, or DCDC certification (preferred)
  • Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent networking certification (preferred)
  • Red Hat, Linux Foundation, or equivalent systems administration certification (preferred)
  • Possess a customer-centric mindset
  • Possess intermediate computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge with confident public speaking and presentation skills
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, leadership, and cross-functional communication skills
  • Ability to safely install, remove, cable, and service data center equipment
  • Ability to travel 10%-25%
