ACC Android Developer - Job Description Job Title: Senior Android Engineer - Walmart Global Tech (Auto Care Center) Location: Bentonville, AR / Sunnyvale, CA Work Authorization: At this time, the company does not offer visa sponsorship for this role. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship. Job Summary Walmart Global Tech is seeking a Senior Android Engineer (5-10 years of experience) to join the Auto Care Center team. You will design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale Android applications that power customer and associate experiences for Auto Care services. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in modern Android development, large-scale mobile architectures, and building high-quality, maintainable applications. Experience integrating CMS modules into native Android applications is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities, * Design, develop, test, and maintain native Android functionality using Kotlin and modern Android best practices.

  • Build scalable, reusable features using MVVM, Jetpack libraries, Kotlin Coroutines, and Clean Architecture principles.
  • Integrate GraphQL and REST APIs and collaborate with backend, product, UX, and QA teams to deliver high-quality features.
  • Implement and maintain CMS-driven content modules within native Android applications.
  • Optimize application performance, reliability, accessibility, and user experience across Android devices. Resolve production issues, tech debt and bugs.
  • Write unit and UI tests, participate in code reviews, and contribute to CI/CD and Agile development practices.
  • Work with AI tools such as GitHub CoPilot, ChatGPT, etc. for code generation in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of professional Android development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack Compose (or modern Android UI), MVVM, and Android Jetpack components.
  • Experience developing and maintaining large-scale enterprise mobile applications.
  • Experience consuming GraphQL and REST APIs, asynchronous programming with Coroutines, and Git-based development workflows.
  • Strong understanding of software design principles, testing (JUnit/Espresso), and Agile methodologies.
  • Good communication skills and a team player attitude., * Previous experience with Walmart tools such as Tempo, Glass mobile development is a plus
  • Well-versed in using AI tools such as GitHub CoPilot, ChatGPT and other AI tools to accelerate code generation
  • Experience with Firebase, analytics, feature flags, CI/CD pipelines, and performance optimization, Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area. Option 2: 5 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
