Summary: Provide exceptional technical support for students and staff while developing expertise in cybersecurity and data privacy. The role is integral to ensuring smooth technology operations and maintaining data security compliance across the district. This role combines technical support expertise with a growing focus on data privacy and cybersecurity, offering opportunities for professional development in both areas., Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

Technology Support & Troubleshooting

Troubleshoot and resolve technology issues, including Chromebooks, iPads, MacBooks, and Windows devices.

Manage inventory systems to track and assign equipment.

Provide support for classroom audio-visual systems (e.g., projectors and intercoms).

Utilize the help desk ticketing system to prioritize and resolve requests efficiently.

Act as a liaison between the Technology Department and building staff, ensuring clear communication and understanding of technical needs.

Participate in and support department projects and the development of standard operating procedures.

Data Privacy and Cybersecurity:

Document and continually improve security practices and protocols.

Assist in maintaining compliance with data privacy laws and regulations, ensuring student and staff data confidentiality.

Contribute to the development and delivery of security awareness training (e.g., phishing detection, password safety).

Collaborate with the incident response team to investigate, respond to, and mitigate cybersecurity incidents and potential security threats.

Research and implement compliant software solutions and data governance processes.

Stay updated on cybersecurity trends and threats through regular communication with agencies like CISA.
Requirements
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ChromeOS, Windows, iPadOS, and macOS. Experience with help desk systems (e.g., Incident IQ) and managing technology inventories.
- Cybersecurity Interest: Familiarity with data privacy regulations and a willingness to develop expertise in risk assessment, security auditing, and incident response.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot technical and security issues effectively.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and presentation skills to collaborate across departments and train staff.
- Organizational Skills: Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Education/Experience: Relevant degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Ability to travel between assigned buildings and other district locations as needed; employees must provide reliable personal transportation.
