Job description

As a Senior Developer (WMS Development), you will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise Warehouse Management System (WMS) applications, integrations, and warehouse automation solutions using Java and modern application frameworks. You will build scalable applications, REST APIs, microservices, and system integrations across WMS, ERP, OMS, and third-party platforms to enable efficient supply chain operations. You will design and implement reliable, high-performance solutions that improve inventory visibility, order fulfillment, and warehouse execution. You will leverage Azure cloud technologies, Kubernetes, and data integration platforms to modernize applications, optimize system performance, and deliver business value. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex issues, implement enhancements, and drive continuous improvement of mission-critical warehouse and distribution systems., * Designs, develops, tests, and supports Java-based Warehouse Management System (WMS) applications and warehouse automation solutions.

  • Develops scalable and maintainable applications using Java, Spring Framework (Spring MVC/Spring Boot), REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
  • Collaborates with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Operations teams to analyze requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Develops, maintains, and supports integrations between WMS, ERP, OMS, transportation systems, warehouse automation equipment, and external partner applications
  • Writes clean, efficient and well-engineered front-end code that can serve as standard of excellence for other team members.
  • Conducts code reviews, mentors other front-end developers and provides guidance on code management, release management, environment management, process flows and documentation.
  • Explores all technical options when considering a solution, including homegrown coding, third party sub-systems, enterprise platforms and existing technology components.
  • Actively leads collaborative efforts through all phases of software development life cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, technical design, coding, testing, and release support.
  • Understands lifecycle of various technology sub-systems that comprise eCommerce platform (i.e., version, release, roadmap), including current capabilities, compatibilities, limitations and dependencies; understands and advises of optimal upgrade paths.
  • Leverages relationships with key IT, QA and other corporate colleagues by communicating and collaborating on cross function initiatives.
  • Develops technical documentation, such as system context diagrams, design documents and release procedures.
  • Leads troubleshooting efforts for production issues of all levels and severities, through a hands-on approach or through delegation, and assigns to third party front-end developers as appropriate and tracks progress.
  • Leads efforts to monitor web properties for uptime, and proactively identify future problems by analyzing trends, data and monitoring reporting.
  • Leads efforts to identify and develop third party vendors selection based on digital roadmap and requirements, including initial research and identification, selection, contributing to contractual discussions and operational efforts.
  • Oversees third party technology partners, including assignments, service level agreements, quality standards, work product and other deliverables as detailed in contractual agreements.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on Java development experience building enterprise applications using Java, Spring Framework (Spring MVC/Spring Boot), REST APIs, SQL Server, Web Services, and Git/GitHub preferred.
  • 3+ years of Warehouse Management System (WMS) development experience, including integrations, inventory management, order fulfillment, warehouse automation, and supply chain processes preferred.
  • Strong experience developing distributed applications, microservices, API integrations, and high-volume transaction processing systems preferred.
  • Experience with WebSphere, IBM MQ, Drools, and enterprise integration technologies preferred.
  • Hands-on experience integrating WMS with ERP, OMS, transportation, and third-party systems preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Azure cloud technologies including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and containerization preferred.
  • Experience supporting modernization and migration of legacy applications to cloud-based platforms preferred.
  • Strong background in application design, development, performance tuning, debugging, and production support preferred.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment preferred.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills preferred.
  • Experience supporting distribution center, warehouse, logistics, or supply chain operations is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in eCommerce, eBusiness, information technology or related field preferred
  • 5 years required, 7 years preferred experience in a development role in an enterprise environment with responsibility for the delivery and support of world class technology solutions
  • 5 years required, 7 years preferred experience with coding experience in required language, platform, and/or technology.
  • 5 years required, 7 years preferred experience developing solutions using modern tools and practices
  • Working knowledge with code management systems
  • Working knowledge with intake and task management tools
  • Working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Working knowledge of development frameworks
  • Working knowledge with build tools
  • Working knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies
