Job description

Andersen seeks a hands-on Azure Administrator Manager to lead our growing Microsoft cloud environment, combining deep technical execution with leadership responsibilities for global infrastructure design, cloud governance, and platform operations.

What You'll Do

Azure Infrastructure & Administration

  • Administer Azure subscriptions, RBAC, governance policies, monitoring, and standards
  • Design and maintain global infrastructure supporting distributed, multi-office environments
  • Manage Azure infrastructure services: Application Gateway, WAF, hybrid connectivity, and high availability
  • Oversee server patching and lifecycle management using Azure Update Manager
  • Design secure external services with redundancy and multi-region considerations
  • Manage cost optimization, budgeting, and governance controls; maintain documentation and runbooks
  • Participate in incident response and on-call support rotation
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity teams

Security & Governance

  • Maintain secure networking and enforce Zero Trust principles across Azure
  • Manage Azure Policy, Blueprints, and Defender for Cloud for compliance
  • Implement identity governance via Entra ID with Conditional Access, PIM, and MFA
  • Drive Azure cost management and optimization initiatives
  • Conduct security reviews and support audit and compliance efforts

Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)

  • Design, deploy, and manage AVD host pools, application groups, and workspaces
  • Manage session host images, golden image creation, versioning, and automated updates
  • Configure FSLogix profile containers, OneDrive integration, and user profile management
  • Implement AVD scaling plans and autoscale policies for performance and cost optimization
  • Manage AVD networking, including Azure Virtual Networks, RDP Shortpath, and Private Link
  • Apply security controls: Conditional Access, Intune enrollment, session host hardening, and Defender for Endpoint
  • Monitor AVD health using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and AVD Insights
  • Manage application delivery: RemoteApp publishing, MSIX App Attach, and Microsoft 365 integration

AI & Innovation

  • Support Azure AI services and sandbox environments for innovation initiatives
  • Evaluate Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, and Power Platform AI capabilities
  • Partner with teams to identify AI and automation use cases

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Collaborate across infrastructure, security, application, and business teams
  • Lead incident response and serve as technical authority on Azure infrastructure
  • Participate in vendor discussions, roadmap planning, and technology assessments

Requirements

Required Experience & Skills

  • Four-year IT degree or equivalent experience and relevant certifications
  • 5+ years infrastructure or Azure administration experience in enterprise environments
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Azure: networking, compute, storage, identity, monitoring
  • Experience with hybrid Microsoft environments (AD, Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra ID)
  • Proficiency in PowerShell and/or Azure CLI scripting and automation
  • Solid understanding of cloud security, RBAC, and governance frameworks
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills, * Microsoft certifications: AZ-104, AZ-305, PL-900, or PL-400
  • Experience with Azure Application Gateway, WAF, Front Door
  • Azure landing zones, enterprise-scale architectures, governance at scale
  • Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights
  • Azure DevOps, Bicep, or Terraform for infrastructure automation
  • Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Automate, BI, Dataverse)
  • Azure AI/OpenAI services or Power Platform AI Builder
  • Azure Virtual Desktop with FSLogix, MSIX App Attach, host pool management
  • Professional services or consulting experience

Benefits & conditions

Competitive base salary and comprehensive benefits package. Salary range forBuffalo, NY: $109,000 - $145,000. Actual compensation determined by qualifications and experience.
