The North American Transportation Services (NATS) team at Amazon is comprised of high-powered dynamic teams that are shaping network planning and execution through the development and application of innovative transportation and delivery management concepts.

Requirements

NATS Transportation Planning team is looking for a customer-focused, detail-oriented, experienced Business Intelligence Engineer to provide recommendations on how to improve customer delivery performance, leveraging a toolkit of numerical methods and modeling. As a BIE, you will be responsible for defining and executing reports to drive operational excellence, exceed our customers' expectations and achieve performance goals. In partnership with Program Managers, BIEs will expose gaps in our supply chain that leave us vulnerable to customer facing defects.

Additionally you will provide insights into operational issues, analyze the root cause and provide recommendations for improvements. Role will require data analysis, understanding of the systems workflow, cross-functional communication and issues management. The role is responsible for effectively communicating with senior management as well as with colleagues from operations and business backgrounds.

This role is inherently cross-functional-this leader will work closely with data scientists, software engineers, program management, design, operations, finance, legal, business development, customer service, and executive teams to create dashboards and bring products to production across the different Amazon transportation teams. A successful candidate will be highly analytical, resourceful, customer-focused, team oriented, and will have an ability to work autonomously under time constraints to meet deadlines. The leader will have a proven track record in taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment. Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • 5+ years of processing large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources experience

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

  • Experience in advanced SQL & ability to write complex queries from scratch from multiple tables

  • Experience with statistical analytics and programming languages such as R, Python, Ruby, etc.

  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

  • Demonstrated experience leveraging generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency and productivity, with the ability to craft effective prompts and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs in a professional setting

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
