Job description
Hands-on contributor who owns features, improvements, and operational stability for a C# desktop product and its evolving web APIs. Support the migration from Google Cloud to Azure and take on medium-complexity modernization tasks while collaborating with senior engineers on architecture and delivery.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)
Design and implement API endpoints and service components (ASP.NET Core) to support desktop and web clients. (25%)
Own medium-sized features from design through deployment and monitoring.(20%)
Contribute to the migration effort: implement service adapters, data migration scripts, and validation tooling. (15%)
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, and containerized deployments. (15%)
Improve observability with structured logging, health checks, and Application Insights / equivalent. (15%)
Document systems, create runbooks, and mentor junior engineers on best practices. (10%)
Requirements
If you can do everything listed above, you've got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:
- Bachelor Degree in related field
- 3-6 years professional software development experience.
- Strong C#/.NET and API experience (ASP.NET Core).
- Experience with client-server architectures and integrating desktop clients with web services.
- Practical experience with at least one cloud platform (GCP or Azure) and willingness to lead Azure migration tasks.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, unit/integration testing, and Git workflows.
- Strong debugging, problem solving, and cross-team communication skills.
- Direct experience migrating legacy/desktop applications toward web-based or cloud-hosted services.
- Hands-on with Azure services (App Service, Functions, Service Bus, Storage, Key Vault, Application Insights).
- Docker and basic Kubernetes experience (AKS) or container orchestration exposure.
- Experience with Terraform/Bicep or other IaC tooling.
