Job description
We are seeking experienced Data Center Field Installations Technicians (L2) to support a large-scale hyperscale data center deployment in Colorado City, Texas. This role is responsible for performing and overseeing moderate-complexity installation activities within a mission-critical data center environment, including rack builds, hardware installation, structured cabling, power distribution, advanced cooling solutions, and system deployment activities.

- Lead rack build and in-rack deployment activities based on engineering and design documentation.
- Interpret rack elevations, layout diagrams, cable schematics, and installation drawings.
- Perform rack-and-stack activities for servers, storage devices, and networking equipment.
- Execute structured cabling installations using both fiber and copper media.
- Validate cable routing, labeling, and cable management best practices.
- Install and verify power connections, including single-feed and dual-feed configurations.
- Support power distribution systems, PDUs, and rack-level redundancy requirements.
Cooling Infrastructure
- Configure and optimize airflow management practices for DX-cooled environments.
- Install and validate direct-to-chip (D2C) liquid cooling components, including:
- Cold plates
- Manifolds
- Hoses
- Quick disconnects
- Perform inspections to ensure proper routing, strain relief, and leak prevention.
System Deployment & Validation
- Execute operating system installations and imaging processes.
- Perform hardware validation, POST testing, and BIOS/firmware verification.
- Conduct basic network connectivity testing.
- Complete post-installation quality assurance checks.
- Verify installations against project specifications and deployment standards.
- Audit cabling, power connections, labeling, airflow, and cooling systems.
Troubleshooting & Team Support
- Diagnose and resolve installation-related issues.
- Escalate complex technical challenges when necessary.
- Provide guidance and support to junior technicians.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and operations teams to ensure timely project delivery.
- Maintain installation documentation and provide progress updates.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Follow all data center safety procedures and permit requirements.
- Promote safe work practices and address unsafe conditions.
- Apply electrical safety awareness around energized equipment and PDUs.
- Follow proper handling procedures for liquid cooling equipment.
- Utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

- Knowledge of cable management standards and best practices.
- Experience working with rack power distribution systems and redundancy concepts.
- Knowledge of:
- DX cooling systems
- Direct-to-chip (D2C) liquid cooling technologies
- Experience with OS deployment and imaging tools such as PXE or ISO-based installations.
- Basic BIOS and firmware configuration experience.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, drawings, schematics, and MOPs.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while providing leadership to junior technicians.
- Understanding of health and safety practices in critical environments.
- Ability to lift, move, and install hardware in physically demanding conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with low-voltage installations.
- Previous experience supporting hyperscale or enterprise data centers.
- Familiarity with quality assurance and post-installation validation processes.

- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 12:00 AM
- 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 8:00 AM, * 1st Shift: Up to $45/hour
- 2nd Shift: Up to $55/hour
- 3rd Shift: Up to $65/hour

This is a Contract position based out of Colorado City, TX. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $48.00/hr.
