Requirements

Hands on NetApp experience a MUST

  • Hands-on engineering experience with NetApp and other storage technologies and concepts (Storage Area Network - SAN & Network Attached Storage - NAS) * Must have knowledge and understanding of protocols such as S3, CIFS, NFS, iSCI, and Fiber Channel Block Storage (SAN) * Experience with capacity planning and sizing storage and backup environments (to include Veritas NetBackup, Cohesity, Rubrik, & CommVault * Experience in performance tuning and optimizing storage and backup environments * Experience with data center migrations and storage replication technologies * Senior-level experience with the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale systems, preferably across multiple hardware platforms and data centers * Strong understanding of high availability concepts with practical experience and implementation of key components in storage environments * Strong understanding of fundamental hardware concepts: disk, memory, CPU, NIC, HBA, firmware, RAID, performance concepts (I/O, paging, swapping, system calls), iSCSI, Fiber Channel, Ethernet * Strong understanding of essential TCP/IP concepts: TCP, UDP, ICMP, SMTP, SNMP, LDAP, DNS, NTP, etc..

  • Experience connecting storage arrays to Hypervisor Technologies (NUTANIX, VMWARE VCF, OpenStack). * Understanding of security best practices and federal hardening requirements (FISMA, STIG, etc.)

  • CompTIA Security+ or similar certification for IAT Level II DoD 8570 compliance * Proficient written and oral communication skills

  • Strong collaborative attitude and ability to work in a team environment

  • Ability to take direction
