Job description

As the SR Firmware Engineer, you will be working on sophisticated, industrial, real time operating systems involving real time data acquisition and post processing of data for analysis and reports. This team of engineers develops innovative monitoring systems used for transformer monitoring at electrical sub stations., * Embedded systems, firmware development with specific focus on Linux and real time embedded systems.

  • Developing advance firmware solutions for critical substation monitoring and diagnosis requirements.
  • Coordinate firmware development activities and lead quality and scheduling projects.
  • Supports development team and provides needed pre-qualification and verification testing. Ensure compliance to all regulatory needs for the product and business
  • Support product transition to mass manufacturing
  • Supports sales and support team post release to timely meet customer needs.
  • Follow software development and validation processes and continuously improve them.
  • Use Scrum Agile Methodology for software development.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in embedded systems design, development, testing, and debugging.

Strong experience with microcontroller and microprocessor-based systems.

Expertise in Embedded C/C++ development within real-time, multi-threaded environments.

Proficiency in programming peripheral interfaces like UART, I2C, SPI , etc.

Proven experience in developing, debugging, and testing industrial protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, IEC60870, IEC61850 , along with expertise in Ethernet systems, protocol analyzers, and SCADA practices.

Extensive experience with embedded Linux and Windows environments, including real-time data acquisition and scheduling applications.

Knowledge of unit testing frameworks for Linux.

Experience with device driver programming.

Preferred Skills

Experience in developing products for the power utility industry.

Familiarity with AI technologies in firmware development.

Understanding of cybersecurity implementation principles.

Experience with FPGA programming and development.

Proficiency in additional programming languages such as C#, PHP, JS , and scripting languages like Python .

Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices.

Experience with JIRA and Confluence .

Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 103500.00-191900.00
