Job description
As a Technician II ,you will be responsible for installing and decommissioning network and cablinginfrastructure in a data center environment while ensuring compliance withsafety standards and industry best practices. This role requires technicalproficiency in pulling and terminating copper and fiber cables, performingsplicing, troubleshooting circuits, and maintaining accurate documentation. Asolid understanding of wiring schemes, testing procedures, and data centertechnologies is essential, along with the ability to deliver high-qualityworkmanship and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
What You'll Do:
· Installation/decommissioningof network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment.
· Deliversustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, always with an eye on improvement.
· Providestructured feedback on project progress to Stakeholders.
· Exhibitquality workmanship on all work and maintain Data Center cleanliness.
· Followall production, safety and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
· Collaboratewith various Stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
· Readingand comprehending blueprints and building documentation/redline work.
· Broadunderstanding of Data Center infrastructure technologies.
Requirements
· Knowledgeand use of basic telecom hand tools.
· Acceptresponsibility of outcome of work performed.
· Mustunderstand customer service.
· Clearunderstanding of job safety requirements.
· Beable to read and understand job floor plan.
· Shouldbe familiar on wiring schemes and wiring testing.
· Shouldbe able to pull all types of low voltage cable.
· Shouldunderstand and be capable in performing field terminations and labeling.
· Capableof maintaining orderly paperwork, capable of running midsize projects andservice jobs.
· Possessskill to layout MDF and IDF closets, be able to dress all types of cable andperform all types of terminations.
· Capableof working in Data Centers.
· Shallbe able to work on analog, DSL and be able to extend T1 lines.
· BEable to patch network equipment.
· Basicunderstanding of both copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting.
· Troubleshootingof copper and fiber cables
· Workon analog lines and extend T1 connections
· Possessskills to layout MDF and IDF closets
· Direct/superviseothers to perform tasks
· Decommissionfiber trunks and jumpers
· Troubleshootfiber circuits (Versiv OLTS, OTDR)
· Performfiber splicing (OSP, ISP, SM, MM)
· Conductand supervise Service Swaps
· Performmultiple pair copper splicing.
