Job description
The Student Assistant - CSS works in the Center for Student Success to provide customer service to students, faculty and staff who wish to utilize CSS resources. Also, the Student Assistant will provide administrative support to the CSS Team, and other professional staff. Responsibilities include performing general duties and clerical tasks as well as helping to advertise and promote CSS events. The Student Assistant may be assigned to work within various CSS locations (Academic Link Front Desk, CSS Front Desk, and South Campus Learning Commons) depending on the administrative support needed for the school year., * Assist students/staff/faculty/visitors by answering questions and providing general information.
- Assist with communication for new students and their families via email, via phone and other modes.
- Work on special projects as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of events sponsored and/or booked by the department.
- Complete tasks assigned by the supervisor and/or designee.
- Perform general clerical and office support functions.
- Schedule and cancel appointments for all CSS programs and services.
- Assist with keeping the CSS spaces clean and orderly.
- Provide administrative assistance to the Leadership Team and GAs.
- Prepare materials or mailings for the department.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of New Student Orientation Days and other University Wide programs.

Requirements
Currently enrolled Stevenson University student in good standing with the University academically, and judicially with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate). Office experience (answering the telephone, using the photocopier, scheduling/cancelling appointments etc.) preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Ability
- Working knowledge of the structure and function of the Center for Student Success
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required.
- Database management and other computer skills
- Self-motivated, flexible, and possesses a strong work ethic.
- Ability to interact professionally with others via face-to face, email, and on the phone.
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- Detail oriented and highly organized.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding all aspects of the position.
