Insight Global is looking to hire an IT Governance Project Manager to support an IT Director and PMO organization in the St. Louis, MO area. This individual will serve as the governance lead across a portfolio of projects, ensuring project and program managers are adhering to established standards, processes, and best practices. They will facilitate intake meetings, change request reviews, governance sessions, and project status presentations while maintaining project plans, meeting minutes, action items, and other key project documentation.
On a daily basis, this person will work closely with project and program managers to review project plans, identify risks and gaps, ensure governance requirements are being met, and prepare leadership-level updates. They will schedule and facilitate recurring governance meetings, coach project teams on PMO processes, and help enforce consistency across project execution. The Governance PM will also lead project retrospectives, capture lessons learned, track project success metrics, and develop executive PowerPoint presentations for Directors and Vice Presidents highlighting portfolio health, project performance, and key accomplishments.
Requirements
While the primary focus is project governance and oversight, this individual may also be responsible for independently managing smaller IT initiatives as needed. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable operating in the weeds of project execution, and confident presenting project information to executive leadership while driving accountability across teams.5+ years of Project Management, Program Management, PMO, Governance, or related experience. Experience driving project governance, project planning, and PMO best practices across multiple initiatives
Experience facilitating governance forums such as intake meetings, change request reviews, steering committees, and project status reviews
Ability to hold project and program managers accountable to timelines, milestones, deliverables, and documentation standards
Experience creating and maintaining project plans, status reports, meeting minutes, risk logs, action items, and executive summaries
Strong executive communication skills with the ability to present project updates to Directors and Vice Presidents
Experience leading retrospectives and driving continuous process improvement initiatives
Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills
Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, Planview, or Microsoft Project Experience supporting portfolio governance or executive leadership teams
Experience developing project success metrics, KPI dashboards, and executive reporting
Experience independently managing small-to-medium IT projects
