A well-established public sector organization serving a large and dynamic community is seeking a SCADA Systems Analyst to support critical infrastructure operations. Based in Los Angeles, CA, this organization is dedicated to delivering reliable utility and operational services through innovative technology solutions. The SCADA Systems Analyst is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and industrial control systems that support essential utility operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring system reliability, operational efficiency, and data integrity while partnering with internal stakeholders, vendors, and consultants. The position supports mission-critical infrastructure and contributes to long-term technology and automation initiatives., * Design, implement, configure, and maintain SCADA, DCS, HMI, and related control system applications.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and administration for industrial automation systems and associated hardware.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize reports, queries, dashboards, and operational data solutions.
- Program, troubleshoot, and support PLCs, control modules, instrumentation, and network-connected equipment.
- Assist in designing and maintaining networks that support industrial control and automation environments.
- Manage system upgrades, enhancements, migrations, and integration projects from planning through implementation.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, schematics, system configurations, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and internal teams to support new installations, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
- Support contract administration, procurement activities, technology evaluations, and budget planning related to control systems.
- Deliver end-user training and provide ongoing technical guidance to operational and maintenance teams.
Additional Details
- Work Model: Hybrid schedule with three on-site days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday)
- Participation in a rotating on-call schedule supporting critical systems that operate 24/7 (approximately two times per month)
- Position involves both office-based work and support of operational environments
- Occasional physical activity may be required, including bending, kneeling, reaching, and working in confined spaces
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or a closely related technical field
- Minimum of 3 years of recent professional experience implementing and maintaining SCADA, DCS, or industrial control systems
- Experience supporting PLCs, HMI applications, instrumentation, and industrial automation environments
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including LAN/WAN infrastructure, TCP/IP, Active Directory, and Microsoft operating systems
- Experience with SQL, database administration, data analysis, and reporting tools
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, control, and process automation systems
- Strong project management, documentation, troubleshooting, and technical support skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to support operational sites as needed, * Experience supporting water, wastewater, utility, or infrastructure operations
- Experience with SCADA/HMI platforms such as Wonderware InTouch, Dream Report, or similar technologies
- Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity principles and secure network design
- Experience with contract administration, vendor management, and technology procurement processes
- Knowledge of industrial reporting platforms, business intelligence tools, or advanced data visualization solutions
- Professional certifications related to SCADA, automation, networking, or project management are a plus
